This Privacy Policy applies to the OpenDentistry website, accounts, research tools, community features, DAT preparation tools, and other services that link to this policy.

• Account information: your email address, password hash when you create a password, Google profile identifiers when you choose Google sign-in, account role, and account timestamps.
• Planning and profile information: saved schools, school-list preferences, GPA and DAT ranges, application records, status dates, notes, essay drafts, and other workspace information you choose to enter.
• Community information: posts, comments, votes, forum activity, images or links you submit, direct messages, reports, blocks, and moderation records.
• Cycle Results information: application outcomes, academic metrics, dates, display preferences, and notes you choose to share.
• DAT Prep information: lesson and quiz progress, AI chat messages, token usage, and related learning activity.
• Technical information: session identifiers and information ordinarily received by web servers, such as IP address, browser type, device information, request logs, and timestamps.

• Provide, maintain, personalize, and secure the service.
• Authenticate accounts and preserve account preferences.
• Operate school research, application, community, messaging, and learning features.
• Respond to support, safety, privacy, and moderation requests.
• Measure reliability and usage, prevent abuse, and improve features.
• Comply with applicable law and enforce the Terms of Service.

Community posts, comments, forum activity, and shared Cycle Results may be visible to other users or the public. Selecting an anonymous option hides your account identity from ordinary viewers, but the activity remains associated with your account internally so the service can operate, prevent abuse, and support moderation.

Avoid submitting information that you do not want others to see or that could identify another person without permission.

When you use DAT Prep AI chat, your prompt and relevant lesson context are sent to OpenRouter and the model provider selected to generate the response. Chat history and usage information are also stored by OpenDentistry to provide conversation history and manage usage limits. Do not include sensitive personal information in AI prompts.

Information may be shared:

• With hosting, database, security, authentication, transactional email, and AI service providers that support the service.
• When you make information public or direct us to share it.
• To investigate abuse, protect users, or enforce service rules.
• When required by law or a valid legal process.
• As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the service, subject to appropriate safeguards.

OpenDentistry does not currently sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

When you choose Google sign-in, Google authenticates you and provides basic profile information such as your verified email address. Resend processes recipient addresses and message content when OpenDentistry sends verification, password-reset, or security emails.

OpenDentistry uses essential session cookies to keep users signed in and protect account flows. Limited local or session browser storage may be used to preserve device-specific interface state. The current service does not use advertising cookies.

Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, preserve account history, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Some deleted content may remain temporarily in backups or be retained when needed for safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

To request access, correction, or deletion of account information, contact OpenDentistry using the email below. Requests may require identity verification and may be subject to lawful exceptions.

OpenDentistry uses reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect personal information, including hashed account passwords and access controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so use a unique password and protect your account credentials.

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information. You may also have rights concerning certain sharing or uses of sensitive information. OpenDentistry will not discriminate against you for submitting a valid privacy request.

OpenDentistry is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account or submit personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

If you access OpenDentistry from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where service providers operate. Privacy protections may differ from those in your location.

This policy may be updated as the service or legal requirements change. Material updates will be identified by a revised date and, when appropriate, an additional notice.
