Mission Statement
The Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine – Illinois is dedicated to the education of dentists who will demonstrate excellence in comprehensive oral healthcare and the discovery and dissemination of knowledge.
Combined Degree Programs
- DMD/MPH
Online, asynchronous Master of Public Health program designed to be completed in four years alongside the dental degree.
- DMD/MS in Precision Medicine
Dual degree focusing on genetic and genomic technologies in healthcare; offered as an online program.
- DMD/MBS
Master of Biomedical Sciences may be completed as a secondary degree program for current clinical students.
International Student Programs
Other Paths:
- Advanced Standing Credit - Awarded at the College's discretion for well-qualified dental graduates from other countries, typically entering at the 2nd-year level.

Clinical Experiences
Focuses on 'Day One Readiness' through a simulation clinic in the first two years, followed by clinical pairs (D3/D4) in the Dental Institute during the final two years.
Clinical Rotations:
- Extramural Treatment Rotations - DMD-4 students rotate through community health centers to gain experience with diverse patient populations.
- International Elective Rotation - Students in their 3rd or 4th year may request permission to complete a 4-week international dental rotation.
- Selective Rotations - Year 3 students choose from asynchronous and hybrid learning experiences on specialized dental topics.
