Clinical Experiences
Stony Brook utilizes an integrated biomedical LEARN curriculum with the School of Medicine, emphasizing translational science that bridges basic science to clinical dentistry from the first year.
Clinical Rotations:
- Mobile Dental Care Center - Outreach rotations providing care to underserved children at elementary schools and shelters in Suffolk County.
- International Outreach - Elective missions to Madagascar, Chile, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic.
- Hospital Rotation - Required fourth-year rotation within the Stony Brook University Hospital system.
- Pine Ridge Outreach - Annual outreach mission providing dental care to the Oglala Lakota Sioux tribe in South Dakota.
