Mission Statement
To educate a progressive oral health workforce and advance science to optimize oral health throughout our state, the nation and the world.
Combined Degree Programs
- D.M.D./Ph.D.
Offered through the Dental Academic Research Training (DART) program, designed for students pursuing a career in academic dentistry and research.
- D.M.D./M.B.A.
Offered in collaboration with the UAB Collat School of Business to prepare students for the business side of dental practice management.
International Student Programs
Other Paths:
- International Dentist Program (IDP) - A 2.5-year program for foreign-trained dentists that begins with an intensive 6-month preparatory term before merging with the traditional D.M.D. class at the second-year level.

- Pinson DentaQuest Dental Clinic - A pediatric-focused rotation for third and fourth-year students.
- Cahaba Valley Health Care - Provides emergent and primary care experience serving low-income patients in Jefferson County.
