Combined Degree Programs
- DMD/MPH
Offered in collaboration with the UIC School of Public Health to combine clinical skills with public health approaches.
- DMD/PhD
Integrated through the Multidisciplinary Oral Science Training (MOST) program, combining clinical training with customizable basic and translational oral sciences research.
- DMD/MS in Clinical and Translational Science
Joint degree with the School of Public Health preparing students with advanced clinical research skills.
International Student Programs
Other Paths:
- International Observations - The college offers opportunities for international observers to gain exposure to U.S. clinical practices.
- Post-Graduate Specialty Training - International dentists are eligible to apply for various advanced specialty programs such as Periodontics and Endodontics.

Clinical Experiences
The curriculum utilizes Small Group Learning (SGL), a case-based, patient-centered, and problem-focused approach that integrates basic sciences with clinical applications starting in the first year.
Clinical Rotations:
- Extramural Service-Learning Rotations - Fourth-year students spend up to 16 weeks at various community-based sites across Illinois and the US.
- DuPage County Health Department - Rotation focused on treating special needs and disabled patient populations.
- Douglas County Health Department - Service-learning experience serving rural and Amish populations.
- Mile Square Health Center - Clinical experience at a Federally Qualified Health Center operated by the University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics.
- Englewood Neighborhood Health Center WIC Clinic - Focuses on pediatric screenings and oral health education for parents.
