Mission Statement
The mission of the UNMC College of Dentistry is to continually improve the oral health of the people of Nebraska and beyond through a humanistic approach to education, extraordinary patient care, and innovative research.
Combined Degree Programs
- DDS/MBA
Offered in collaboration with the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) College of Business; can be completed in four years with courses starting in the summer.
- DDS/MPH
Collaborative program with the UNMC College of Public Health allowing students to earn both degrees within four or five years.
- DDS/Certificate in Public Health
Allows dental students to gain public health expertise alongside their clinical training.
International Student Programs
Other Paths:
- China Scholarship Council (CSC) Program - A health professions degree program for Chinese students to experience health care in the United States and build upon their previous dental education.

Clinical Experiences
A comprehensive patient care model that mirrors private practice, utilizing advanced digital dentistry, virtual reality simulation, and haptic trainers (Simodont).
Clinical Rotations:
- Extramural Rotation Program - Fourth-year students are placed in established dental practices with preceptors to gain experience in running a private practice.
- Rural Private Practice Rotation - A mandatory three-week rotation in a rural dental setting.
- Public Health Clinic Rotation - A mandatory three-week rotation in a public health dental clinic.
